Sri Krishna Janmashtami

The most auspicious day of all days is Sri Krishna Janmashtami. This is celebrated with great enthusiasm and devotion by millions of devotees across the world. The most significant aspect of Janmashtami celebrations is the midnight hour, which marks the moment of Sri Krishna's birth. All Devotees gather in temples and homes to offer prayers, perform abhishekam, engage in kirtans, an glorify the pastimes of the Lord. On the auspicious day of Krishna Janmashtami; Sri Radha Gopinath Mandir will have the following events: A short video commemorating the beautiful pastimes of Sri Krishna, Sangeet Seva; where many singers come to temple and perform a special peice of music dedicated to Krishna, Dance performences such as Kucchupudi and Bharatnatyam students demonstrating a visually appealing form of dance to the Lord, followed by the grand Abhishekam, Jhulan Seva; swinging the Lord, as well as ecstatic Kirtans leading up until midnight.
